"Yes" is the most empathetic
response our customer can have.
But do you see Slovenia's TLD through Spanish eyes? You're nobody's fool. You are clear-thinking and not easily manipulated by emotion yourself. But you must
agree that for many people YES equals action. Would you
like a positive emotional response like that to your service? How do you feel? Many Spanish speakers know the English word "yes", but the positive emotional response seems muted. There is a language delay and a disconnect. Why would this go-response be associated with the English word for yes? That reaction is tied, of course, to the first-language word. Do you need a
great big Yes from this
audience? How big a difference will .si make for you? Once upon a time, there was a UK bank which liked to say yes. Remember which? Did Churchill's insurance-selling dog's catchphrase speak of the company's reliability? ...Ohh yes. And of course when the Man from Del Monte said yes, he sent Mexican fruit growers into an orgy of celebration. Except that
in Central
and South American ads he said "Si!" of course. Now maybe your organisation can't afford a .si domain. But please don't mix up your objections with the facts. The obscurity of Slovenia itself should not be confused with its TLD. If Slovenian websites never pop up in your searches it's because it's a country of two million people, and they are in Slovene. Meanwhile Tuvalu's domains - .tv – have become very popular in the sporting world. And Montenegro is blessed with the TLD for English-speaking introverts, .me Nobody thinks they are going to visit Liverpool in Tuvalu when they click on liverpool.tv – what matters is the content of the site, and the presence of
your search terms in the URL itself.
Surprisingly perhaps, two thirds of online searches result from
offline exposure to brands or slogans. True generics cannot be trademarked. But you must appreciate the irony of this. In the world of online selling, if your domain name is exactly what you're offering, the competition can go hang! Make sure you share in the benefits of this tale of unexpected consequences before somebody else does. Guide to top Hispanic domain name prices. These say "com". What does that even mean?
We think www.bank.si is more than just a domain name. It's a potentially very
valuable marketing concept which
has been used again and again by people
who really know what they're doing.
The Slovenian governing body for domains is ARNES (Academic and Research Network of Slovenia) at...

In the jargon of the age using .si as a yes-domain is known as a domain
hack. .si is frankly much better than any of those listed in Wikipedia. It has nothing to do with breaking into other people's computers. Unless you want to be called a hacker by some idiot avoid this emotional term. |
